App Icon
1280x768px
This will be the icon for your Apple TV app, both as it appears in the Apple TV App Store as well as on your users' home screen. tvOS app icons use between two and five layers to create a sense of depth and vitality as users bring them into focus.
For more details and best practices on designing app icons for tvOS, see Apple's app icon guidelines.
Top Shelf Image
512x512px (standard)
4640x1440px (wide)
The Apple TV Home Screen provides an area called Top Shelf, which showcases your content in a rich, engaging way while also giving people access to their favorite apps in the Dock. Apple recommends taking advantage of their options for displaying dynamic content, but at minimum a static image is required.
β
This image (in both standard and wide versions) will be the fallback if dynamic content is unavailable. It will display when your app is in the Dock and in focus. tvOS flips and blurs the image in the area below the Top Shelf, ensuring that your image overall fills the 16:9 aspect ratio of the screen.
For best practices about Top Shelf content, see Apple's Top Shelf guidelines.
